Mubarak Mandi is a unique blend of Mughal, Rajputana, Sikh and Baroque styles. The central courtyard of Mubarak Mandi showcased a variety of plants, which were imported during the regime of Maharaja Ranbir Singh (1856‐1885). Besides being a heritage building and a place of residence for the royalty, it also served as a hub of political and social activity till the nation’s independence in 1947.
Objective: To create a reflection of the original characteristics and functions of these spaces as well as to cater to the contemporary urban cultural and recreational requirements. Our intention was to enhance the:
• Spatial organization
• Access and circulation
• Open spaces
